When Jones’ mother entered the home and discovered her son and his friends consuming alcohol and smoking marijuana, said Sheriff David Grice, she pulled out a pistol in order to detain them so they could be arrested. As Jones attempted to leave the residence in a green Pontiac Sunfire, she shot into the door and tire of the vehicle, deputies say. [...]

According to a warrant, Jones helped himself to two Hot Pockets and a bottle of Crown Royal liquor while he was in the home.

Nice.

Makes sense to me.

Particularly, it means that if you’re going to break into a house, and you know the resident of said house, you should know if that resident is going to shoot you.

Even more specifically, according to Jones, it makes this guy an idiot (per ArkansasSports360):

[Arkansas State defensive back Paul] Stephens was reportedly shot on Saturday trying to break into the apartment of former Arkansas State football player Antonio Williams, who reported an intruder and fired a gunshot through his door. Stephens, who was listed as a starting defensive back following the Red Wolves’ spring drills, was hospitalized after the shooting with a wound in his midsection, treated and then taken into police custody, according to a report.

On a hunch, I reviewed online lists of all the men and women who’ve been elected governor of their state since the year 1900. Pored over them for a few hours. Over 1200 politicians have taken that first-term oath of office. Some soon died in office. Many resigned to accept other positions in government, including Spiro Agnew who was “tapped” by Nixon after being the Governor of Maryland for about five minutes. On a handful of occasions, a first-termer was dragged off to the slammer or impeached. One was incapacitated by a nervous breakdown and one left just as impeachment came knocking on his door. So—how many out of over 1200 just up and quit before the end of their term?

A 30-year-old Civil War re-enactor pleaded guilty Wednesday to a misdemeanor charge of reckless handling of a firearm in regard to a shooting in September while filming a battle scene.

[Joshua Silva of Norfolk] was a walk-on in the Civil War documentary “Overland Campaign Web Series Project.” He carried a replica of a 19th-century .45-caliber pistol with live ammunition. When he fired the gun, the bullet struck Thomas R. Lord Sr. of Suffolk. Lord was flown from Heritage Park on Courthouse Highway to a Norfolk hospital.

Lord was portraying a Union soldier; Silva was on the side of the South. The shooting happened during one of the scenes that involved a volley of shots between the two armies.

Farmer said officials believe Silva did not know the gun was loaded. [...] “Mr. Silva broke a cardinal rule of re-enacting – never, ever use live fire.”

Duh.

All his life, Robert Bowman wanted to be a lawyer. He overcame a troubled childhood, a tragic accident that nearly cost him a leg and a debilitating Jet Ski collision.

He put himself through community college, worked and borrowed heavily to help pay for college, graduate school and even law school. He took the New York bar examination not once, not twice, not three times, but four, passing it last year. Finally, he seemed to be on his way.

In January, the committee of New York lawyers that reviews applications for admission to the bar interviewed Mr. Bowman, studied his history and the debt he had amassed, and called his persistence remarkable. It recommended his approval.

But a group of five state appellate judges decided this spring that his student loans were too big and his efforts to repay them too meager for him to be a lawyer.

Dagger. Wow. Those folks must be pretty selective. Oh. Wait.

New York’s courts have overlooked misconduct like lawyers’ solicitation of minors for sex, efforts to deceive judges and possession of cocaine. Those instances have led merely to temporary suspensions from practice.

But loans are too much? Loans incurred to … BECOME A LAWYER?!? Dagger twist. Absolute dagger twist.

There are several reasons for this: (1) Daggers usually come about after something good – a dagger usually means a major downturn in fortunes that falls far short of expectations – and I’m not sure who, if anyone, expected anything productive to ever come from these two, or why; (2) I’m pretty busy helping the U.N. globalists sneak sterilizations in with tetanus shots (see video) in between bar prep essays; (3) I’m sure that exposure to such primary evidence as actual quotes or the aforementioned video will make us all stupid, so I’m hesitant to link any of this; and (4) I still don’t quite understand who Spencer and Heidi are, or where they came from, or why they’re famous.

No, it’s cool, don’t explain.

Plus, there’s already plenty of good e-commentary. Take, for example, All Things Fabulous, which gives something called “Speidi” the unenviable number 6 ranking on her “Not Fabulous” list. I don’t know what it is, but it sounds just terrible:

It is official: Heidi and Spencer have lost their minds. I always knew they were dumb as bricks and annoying as hell, but their appearance on Alex Jones’s radio show pushed me over the edge. I wasn’t surprised to learn they appeared on the show. They are crazy enough to side with a conspiracy theorist who compares Obama to Hitler. Heidi quotes Revelations on her Twitter account regularly. However, I was surprised by some of their outrageous statements. Here are a few examples from Heidi:

Oh no.  9/11 was an inside job.  Confirmed yesterday by Heidi and Spencer.  Admittedly, I didn’t watch this entire video.  And honestly, I don’t suggest that you do either.  Just fast forward to random parts and you’ll get a little nugget of awesomeness, for sure.

I don’t understand any of this, really. But (1) I think it involves Twitter, so I’m in; and (2) All Things Fabulous uses more font colors than a Law School social event e-mail.
